Two kinds of tokens

Tokens power the AI-heavy work: creating Study Spaces and AI citation fallbacks. You get them through a membership or one-time packs.

Spend one to turn your notes into a fresh, interactive 3D Study Space. Every Study Space needs a token. It's the most AI-intensive feature, so there's no free allowance for it.

Citation tokens

Spend one only when a source's details aren't available and the Citation Generator has to call in AI to find them. When the details are already there, citations are completely free.

One token, one use. Your two balances are tracked separately, so writing citations never eats into your Study Spaces.

Before you buy

Quick answers

Do I need a membership to buy token packs?

Not at all. Token packs are one-time purchases you can grab whenever you want, with or without a membership, and you can buy them as many times as you like. The tokens go straight into your balance and don't expire.

Do unused tokens roll over?

Your monthly membership allowance refreshes at the start of each month, so it doesn't stack up over time. Tokens from one-time packs are different: those stay in your balance until you use them.

Can I cancel or change my membership?

Yes. Memberships are managed through your Apple Account subscription settings, so you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel any time. Upgrades take effect right away, with a prorated refund of the time you'd already paid for. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period.

Why do the AI features cost anything?

Generating a Study Space, or having AI find a citation's missing details, calls a model that bills real money on every run. Tokens cover those runs and nothing else. The Grade Forecaster and everyday citations cost nothing per use, so they are free. Memberships add tokens plus extras like the Beta Lab.
